I admire your restraint. On the first Medium post of yours I read, I left a tongue in cheek comment, meant to be playful, but then I worried it came across rude. I’ve tried to make up for this by leaving more thoughtful comments, but one might wonder, Why do I feel the need to keep leaving comments? I don’t think most people who respond to a writer’s work stop to consider the effort in the composition, let alone the imbalance of their response. The other day, someone responded to a personal essay of mine with “This is utter drivel.” I figured their composition didn’t carry enough substance for a response.
