Christian Cooper acted with grace and poise - admirable qualities that garner respect, no matter his skin color. But maybe you're right. Maybe white people need to face real consequences for their racist beliefs. I'm a white woman who lives in NYC, and what alarmed me about seeing Amy Cooper was that I could see myself acting like her. Not calling the cops and saying, "There's an African American man threatening me." But I could see myself feeling threatened when there was no real threat. I want to be more like Christian, level-headed and forgiving.
